Volvo Penta IPS

inboard diesel engine with an advanced IPS drive

Volvo Penta IPS is a modern inboard propulsion system. There are many advantages compared to other similar systems, in particular when it comes to  driving, comfort and on-board safety.

These advantages make the IPS currently the most popular management system in the pleasure boat market.

Simple boating

Joystick is perhaps the IPS's most famous trademark. It makes docking simple. IPS is more than just the joystick - many other intelligent features such as Dynamic Positioning System and Sportfish mode have made it so popular.

The latest generation of Volvo Penta commands have low-speed mode and cruise control buttons integrated that make boating even easier and safer.

For boats under 100 feet

There are 10 models from IPS350 to IPS1200 to select from. These are paired with 3 different drive powers and you can install them with either 2, 3 or 4 engines. It is what makes IPS so suitable for installation to vessels from 30 to 100 feet.

The new IPS can also be installed to semi-dispalcement vessels, so even owners of such vessels can enjoy the advantages of IPS.

Volvo Penta IPS advantages

Its unique design enables IPS some big advantages regarding performance, emission and noise compared to other drive systems.
